Austin Park Attains Two of the Most Sought-After Security Certifications
Austin Park is now part of a small group of people who have obtained the world’s premier cybersecurity certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
ST. PAUL, Minn. — February 25, 2020 — Austin Park, director of security and infrastructure at ClientPay (www.clientpay.com), an award-winning digital payment acceptance solution for legal and other professional service firms, has attained two of the most sought-after levels of security certification.
Austin is now part of a small group of people (fewer than 137,000 people across 171 countries) who have obtained the world’s premier cybersecurity certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Austin also recently earned the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification. The CISM certification promotes international security practices. It’s a globally accepted standard of achievement for professionals who manage, design, and assess an enterprise’s information security.
According to Austin, he spent his childhood tinkering with computers, and from that early fascination grew a lifelong passion for technology. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and he went on to get his master’s degree in finance at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas, both in Minneapolis, Minn. Austin now has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, with a deep understanding of the trifecta of cybersecurity, software architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
As the Director of Security and Infrastructure at ClientPay, Austin led the company's initiative to become compliant in Payment Card Industry (PCI) Level 1 standards, the most rigorous security level available. Now, Austin is in charge of security, compliance, and the cloud-based infrastructure. In Austin’s words, “We are serious about security at ClientPay, from coding to the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) standards to regularly monitoring and testing networks for vulnerabilities. Security is our number one priority.”
“We are extremely fortunate to have Austin on our team at ClientPay,” says ClientPay CEO Jay Bruber. “His knowledge of cybersecurity and his passion for continued improvement is a huge asset to us. He helps ensure that our clients receive the very best in data and information protection.”
